My, how the time has flown....

This has been a year of changes. My grandfather passed away at the ripe old age of 89, a soldier of the Lord to the end. On the same day, I was baptized with my brother, cousin, and friend in the single most beautiful and emotional event of my life. I turned sixteen, got my G1 license (yikes), started eleventh grade, and made the leap toward finally bringing The Heir of Ariad to the shelves. So much has happened in so little time- it feels like it's passed in a blink. But now is the fun part: looking ahead to what the new year has in store!

It's exciting, and scary, to look into the future, especially since there's really no way of knowing what lies ahead. Lord willing The Heir of Ariad: Book One will hit the bookshelves, and progress will be made on Book Two. Maybe I'll start caring an iota about driving (but then again, maybe I won't). My third niece or nephew is due in March, my seventeenth birthday is looming in April, and every day between is a total mystery. Your guess is as good as mine!

It may be a smooth year, or a difficult one, but the fact is that only God knows. Every blessing and every inevitable trial are hand-picked by Him for each of us, and it may not always feel like sunshine and roses, but He knows what He's doing, and He'll guide us through it all.

It's New Year's Eve, and another year has come and gone in a flash. Let's take a day to thank God for the good times, look for the lessons in the hard ones, and brace ourselves for the year to come and all the awesome adventures ahead!
